If you're new to fitness, you may be overwhelmed at the endless barrage of conflicting advice. One magazine claims paleo is hot. Another swears veganism is the honest to God's truth. Meanwhile, your chatty neighbor talks endlessly about the healing powers of bone broth.
So who should you listen to? None of them. At least not initially.
Initially what matters more than finding the perfect diet and exercise program is self-love.
I don't blame you if you're rolling your eyes right now. Self-love has become a trendy hashtag. But it's more than an excuse to post sexy selfies on the gram. It's the key that determines how far you'll go on your fitness journey.
So this Valentine's Day, why not make yourself the object of your desire? Not in a creepy, still bitter at your ex way (though we've all been there). But in a fun, affirming your own dopeness way. Treat yourself like you're the most beautiful, intelligent, charming person ever. Sure, it may feel odd and even untrue. But so did Mom jeans, and we all found a way to rock those.
Fitness is a gateway to self discovery. Love yourself, and you'll enjoy the ride.
